- Todd DiCiurcio, "Donating Artist"
Todd DiCiurcio is a New York based artist whose drawings are the spark of life under a micro & macro lens, finding a truth in his portraiture. Utilizing technology both spiritual and psychoanalytical, the marks he makes are dark and light images as creatures we know as more than men and women. They are animals that become words, stories, bands, and armies of mythology. Striving against ordinary, DiCiurcio seeks miracle in the spectacle and recording and living in it with his technique.
His debut breakthrough event, titled "Synthesis" was hosted by Art Production Foud and longtime friend Petra Nemcova in 2008 and was the first exhibition event opening the Tribeca underground club, Santos' Party House. That explorative body saw him produce 8ft paintings based off of energy filled live drawings and paintings alongside musicians in performance that inspired his own works in-studio: Guided By Voices, Dinosaur Jr., The Filthy Youth, Grizzly Bear, Amazing Baby, Broken Social Scene, Sebadoh, The English Beat, Guster, The Killers, Bon Jovi, La Dolce Vita, Bob Mould, Wylclef Jean, Louis XIV, Ben Kweller,Trail of Dead, Exitmusic, Michael Cervertis, and even on Broadway with Sweeny Todd and In the Heights among many others. He has created a dialog between visual art and music.
DiCiurcio is also the Art Ambassador for the Petra Nemcova's Happy Hearts Fund.
