Steve & Cookie's Review
Please check out a review of our restuarant by Frank Gabriel of the Atlantic City Weekly
New Spring Menu
After much research, trial and error and search for high quality. I think we are on our way.
We are now sourcing our meats from producers using sustainable practices- which means that the animals are humanely raised in a clean environment without the use of hormones or antibiotics in their feed.
Our salmon comes from Black Pearl in Scotland that has been certified by the Organic Food Federation and Naturland; internationally recognized Organic certifiers. They are leading the way in enviroment conservation of farm raised fish and have many sustainable practices in place.
We will continue to purchase the wonderful day boat scallops from Viking Village on Barnaget Light.
We are also sourcing as much Jersey produce as we can this time of year. But soon the Margate Community Farmer's Market opens for the summer- Thursday June 25th- then we will be purchasing directly from the farmers...can't wait!
Here is a list of some of our suppliers
Leidys's Pork
Meyers Natural Angus
Eberly Farms Chicken
Black Pearl Scottish Salmon

Our Menu
There is more to love about our menu this winter.
We have changed the format just a little to give you more options. Along with our small and large plates of pasta you can have a choice of ordering one or two crab cakes, a half or full order of fried shrimp and a 5oz. or 8oz. filet. We have also cut down the portion size of our salmon and tuna entrees AND cut back the price as well. One thing we will never cut down or change is our commitment to quality.
Don’t forget to try the mini’s for dessert- just of bite or two of all classic pies.
Our Sunday to Thursday Winter Specials- aka Our Locals Appreciation Menu is better than ever this year- with great prices on salad, entrée, dessert and an interesting wine pairing at a special price.

Farm Markets Provide a Deeper Understanding our Seasons in SJ
The Margate Community Farm Market opened last Thursday June 26th at 9AM to a crowd of individuals eager to witness and be part of the 1st such event in recent Margate history (apparently, back in the 30’s or 40’s there was a market in the space where BarrelsRestaurant stands today).
June Martin, our market manager, and I spent weeks planning the event; visiting other markets, speaking with farmers, vendors, volunteers, chefs and city officials.

If you missed S&C's Art Show on 18th of June, you missed a really great time. My employees transformed the Verandah and Oyster Bar into an art gallery
The 200 plus attendees enjoyed the artwork of S&C employees and "special friends" of S&C while sipping on Ruinart Champagne and Chopin Martini's and nibbling on tuna pizza and artesinal cheeses.
What made the evening even more special was we raised close to 5,000 dollars for Atlantic County Special Service's School District art department. A huge thank you to all the artists and volunteers that helped make the evening a success.
